Patrick Bruce was born about 1595 in Newtown, Stirlingshire, Scotland and died 1655.

He married Janet Jackson. She was born 1609 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. She was the daughter of John Jackson and Rachael Johnstone.

Their children were:

Isabella Bruce (born 1640 in Newtown, Stirlingshire, Scotland); married Captain John Woods
